Lisa Ray asked the Schuyler Street Stroll Committee to form an official group to help with the grant for this project. She added, "We officially formed this committee in 2013 to assist a local Boy Scout who was working on earning the rank of Eagle Scout. There were several volunteers that were part of that group." This group also created a sitting area by the Post Office. "There was a group called Helping Hands that met every Monday to pull weeds, pick up trash, and do whatever was needed at the parks and around town. When was the Oquawka Parks and Tourism group created? We are currently in the process of working with the Village to find a better location for the museum," said Tee. She and her husband, Andy, took great care of the Museum for years. "We are also in charge of the Oquawka Museum after having it passed down to us from Rosalie Melvin.
